Abstract
Living in rural, poor, and mostly illiterate county, contributes to the teen pregnancy in Bamberg County. Bamberg County is located in the enjoin of South Carolina about 50 miles from Columbia, SC. Over the years the county has plunged into despair, and the ones who have the appearance _or_ semblance to be paying the price are the teens. With the unemployment rate at all time high and no one to vigor the idea of getting an education the pregnancy rate among teens has skyrocket.
Introduction
Bamberg County has seen its percent of hard economic times. Thru these times the poverty rate is on the rise along with teen pregnancy. With the family make of the county being on the lower end of the poverty level, African Americans seem to be the hardest hit with the poverty levels and teen pregnancy. So what can be done to deter teen pregnancy? First the causes of teen pregnancy need to be addressed then and yet then can solutions are be put into place. puerile pregnancy is a growing problem in Bamberg County due(p) to poverty, lack of education, lack of family support, and lack of contraceptives.
Bamberg County History
Bamberg County is located in the commonwealth of South Carolina. In 2000, its population was 16,658; a 2005 estimate set(p) the population at 15,880. The county was created from the eastern portion of Barnwell County. The name Bamberg was selected to prise General Francis Marion Bamberg (Kids count Bamberg County 2003).
